Unknown 5-6 inch deep yes and no I do know it's humid enough temp stays mostly 80-85 sometime it does go to 70 but I usually notice and then I fix temp water both fresh and salt given I have heating pads under the tank food is mostly organic was given a list of food that likes and where to get more I change food everyday just In case it leaves any but if I need to go out Max 2 days have had him for about half a year he. PP not sure how long ago he molted but a month after I got him he began looking for a good spot I believe he's in a ten gallon with plastic lids has a small space on one side so it lets fresh air in but small enough to keep it warm he is just by himself gave him the other shells but for some reason he stays in the same one he switched once not sure why but want to get him more shells see if there's any other he favors not that I know of but we did get high air pollution due to recent fires which is why I tried not to do much he's in my room which has no problem keeping air out just once due to the fact that my house usually goes as low as 64 but I have sifters which I use every 2 weeks no sponges I clean the bowls the second I they start getting dirty which is about every three days since sand gets in and absorbs the water I thoroughly cleaned and bathed some new shell bowls used same water that he drinks from only I heat it up so that I can actually get the bowls clean he is usually waiting for me at the highest possible place he can Climb but now he usually stays in his save Haven I'm worried because he seems paler than when I got him he is about Palm size not sure how old

I was going through some other stories found a similar situation I thought maybe do the same thing but differently I have dried shrimp for Hermies so I rehydrated it and my God he ate a lot I saw him looking for more so I gave him a little more thinking he loved the way it tasted will try this with other foods I know he's a night owl like me but I sleep more because it affected me badly so staying up to see the results if nothing changes I'll add pics for better info on what I can do I really love him he's like my child so I am hoping for the best

From how the template was filled out it's a little difficult to know some of your answers. Do you have gauges? It's very important to have gauges. The ones you get in the stores, abalog, aren't accurate. Digital is better. The entire lid can be sealed to keep in humidity. He will get enough air when you feed him. The heater, although called under tank heater, doesn't go under the tank for crabs. It goes on the outside back or side, above the substrate. It's a fire hazard underneath as well as can possibly cook the crab. And it will dry out the sub. Substrate needs to be at least 6" and sandcastle consistancy. The pools need to be deep enough for him to totally submerge. Both water needs to be dechlorinated. A product called Prime is recommended. And Instant Ocean for the salt. He needs a well rounded diet. You can check out the safe and unsafe food list on here. And the food pyramid. He needs protein and calcium every day. I don't understand when you say taking him out for sun? Do you mean out of the tank? Outside?

Re: PP crab troubl
You definately need guages to read the humidity and temp.
UTH heater goes on the side or back, not under the tank.
Water needs to be treated with a product like Prime. Salt water needs to be made from this treated water, using marine salt like Instant Ocean.
There area foods that they need daily - sources of calcium and protein. The 'food' section has information and a food pyramid.
The HCA recommends 3-5 extra shells per crab. Check out the 'shells' section for info on correct and incorrect shells.
