He's down! I went to spray down the ISO and he'd dug under/around where the sponge was sitting. I think. The dirt's all kicked up in that area. I'm glad I disturbed him out of the cocohut yesterday because he was posed for a surface molt. He had strawberry, Bannana and Hone last night so he's more than ready!

YYAAAYY! And yes, that does sound like a down pile. Down pile, up hole, unless they went back down the same hole.
OMG good luck and hoping for a healthy molt! Great job!

Just wanted to update that he came back up! Now he's a much for crab like tan color instead of fleshy pink, he's actually walking and he has his big pincher back! I put him back into the main tat and he's been doing much better, now he's actually climbing stuff instead of sitting in one spot all day.

That's good! Make sure you monitor him with the other crabs though, he might smell tasty to them.

You nursed him back to health! So awesome for both of you. Yay!

They had head on shrimp the night I put him back in, so there was a much more tastier and less "alive" thing for them!

But he let me know today he's fine and needs no more baby-ing by using his brand new big pincher to grab INTO a cut on my thumb. I'm still awful confused by it, I went to set him back down and I guess the gravity surge scared him enough to try to latch on to wherever he found leverage. Hoping he didn't "get" a piece of me, I'd hate to have to post an emergency thread after hermit crabs craving people! Would pork be a sufficient substitute? :hlol:

Haha great way to let you know! Message received, loud and clear! Hope you weren't too hurt by that. Crab pinches are like papercuts with the worst personality. Glad he's doing well!
