CalleLily, do you soak in freshwater or saltwater? I'm thinking moss would not like saltwater, but since I'm not moss, I could be wrong, lol... Just wondering though because some folk have said they have fewer mold problems when soaking eco earth in saltwater.

I soak the moss in freshwater. It's just what I've done, I know I've read others use saltwater. But I do soak my cocofiber in saltwater to help with mold and such.

Yeah! I think hes still alive down there, I saw he had a little window and it looks like he scattered some sand around it to cover up a bit! Also, since I put the salt water with instant ocean the crabs have been DRAINING it! We've had to refill it at least twice a day  its in a little lagoon type bowl where they submerge themselves! They also loved the moss even if it was burnt. I also went to joanns to pick up some shells for them I got around 60 jade turbos small to mediums for like 10 dollars! I also got them some meal worms that they devoured in five mins.! However I was still wondering if anyone has used Kordon Rid-Metals? it says that it gets rid of all heavy metals. I use this with the Kordon AmQuel (the original one).

Kordon products are top of the line, the only downside to them is that it takes two products to get the job done - one for ammonia/chlorine/chloramine, and one for metals. Prime does all of that in one bottle so it's a little easier to use.

Update!
Cray Cray made it through his molt! It looks like he regrew some of or all of his legs! He came up at around 2:00 am and I quickly put some food in there for him but he just made his way to the moss pit instead. Hes stayed there all night and this morning, he seems a bit lethargic but he did drain the salt water! I put a piece of kale next to him this morning so I guess we'll see if hes picked at it later. I'm going to put some cut up fish and worms for him and some honey. :)
