Thank you for all the advise and encouragement. I'm very sad to say that Sebastian passed away today while i was at work (the tank smells very badly of fish, so I'm assuming he's dead or very close to it). :cry: :cry: :cry: I knew i was taking a chance by buying him the fair, I just hoped that maybe i could make his life better.

Hello, I'm so sorry for your loss :'(
I hope his friend fairs better! The heat lamps are probably a factor in losing humidity, once you mix play sand with the EE (coco fiber) it should be sand castle consistency but not soupy (this will help bring up humidity). Here are some quick cheap solutions to some of the issues noted above!

Shells- joann's fabric sells a bag of green turbos (turbos are preferred by the crabs) for 3$ and they vary in size.

Play sand- Can be purchased at home depot 3$ a bag.

Shanphum moss (however you spell it) helps with my humidity a little and can be bought in compressed form.
