Surface Molting out of shell, and in the stage where it can’t move

1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? coconut substrate, 2 gallon, 3-4 inches
2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature and humidity do they usually read?
No
3. Is a heat source used in the tank? If so, what? heat lamp yellow
4. What types of water are available (fresh or salt) and how is the water treated (what brands of dechlorinator or salt mix and what ratio is used to mix it)?
Fresh treated water
5. What kinds of food do you feed and how often is it replaced? every day, hermit crab food, popcorn fruits veggies anything that I’m making that day I’ll put a little something from it in there
6. How long have you had the crab and what species is it, if known?
A few weeks,
7. Has your crab molted, and how long ago did it happen? I believe he’s in the process of the exoskeleton hardening part, the other one is molding now too
8. What type of housing are the crabs kept in, what size is it and what kind of lid is on the housing?
Clear plastic tank with pink lid with plastic covering hole in the middle and vented holes through out the rest
9. How many crabs are in the tank and about how large are they? 2 and a couple inches
10. How many extra shells are usually kept in the tank, if any?

11. Have there been any fumes or chemicals near the crabitat recently?
No
12. How often do you clean the tank and how?
Haven’t cleaned it yet because they’ve been molting and are new didn’t want to stress them out
13. Are sponges used in the water dish? If so, how are they cleaned?
Yes every day
14. Has anything new been added to your crabitat recently? a couple smooth stones (street being rinsed)
15. Is there any other information you would like to share that might be helpful (anything that is regularly part of your crab care, playtime, bathing, etc.)?
Crab was molting, less Scottish then the other one more active, seen outside of his shell and had part of his tail hardening white, he went around the tank and got into s curled up position and hasn’t moved for 3 days but seems like he might be trying to move, looks like he’s trying to move but can’t, he’s like ashy color, (white and Greyish and has turned more so and has more white on his tail, eyes are in a V shape. I rinsed out shells and put them by him but he wouldn’t do anything and I put them in separate room so they didn’t get stressed out now I’m concerned if he’s dead or not
