I'm new!!!

Post by Emm33333 » Sun Jan 01, 2017 9:22 pm

Hey guys! I'm really excited to be here! I have owned crabs for about a year now and I wanted to let you know what has happened in my time of owning hermit crabs!!

Around august I got 3 crabs from petland (it was one that did not treat their animals right and hardly knew what they were dealing with. The only reason I got them there was because no other stores had them at the time) Crabcakes, Shelldon and Last my favorite, Holy crab

About a month into owning these awesome pets, sadly Shelldon died

Just recently (2 days ago) Holy crab died. Crab cakes, the only one left began to grief. I noticed at that same day I got the BEST LOOKING CRAB ever as a friend for crab cakes. I named his Odka
(ODE-KA) I've had him for a day now and Crabcakes is very happy with his new friend. Because I'm such a crab nerd most of the stuff I got for Christmas was stuff for my crabs! I got more hide outs and some bowls and much more. Since the tank hadn't been clean for a while and even after Holy Crab was disposed the tank smelled so I did a through cleaning. I put in this AWESOME green dome/sphere/ball hideout that had fake moss all over it. Since I got real moss for Christmas I put some of it in the hideout and Crabcakes and Odka absolutely love it! Both have been more active and such! Currently I have a ten gallon and I plan on getting a 24X18X12 tank from Exo Terra! Has anyone had any experience with these tanks and are they suitable for crabs? I'm really enjoying this website. I'd love to talk more. If you'd guys like I'll give you weekly updates!

Usually 3-5 inches. Once I get my new tank it will probably be more like 4-6. None of my crabs have molted with me so far. All were/are pps
