Unexpected Ecuadorian!

Post by karlys » Sat Sep 02, 2017 11:08 pm

To make a long story short, I was dropped off at Petco after my bf and I bought a tv because I wouldn't have been able to wear my seatbelt on the freeway ride home with the way we had to put the tv in the car. Had no intentions of buying anything, was just going to wait for my bf to come back for me. Of course, I had to look at the hermit crab tanks (there were two). Pretty good conditions, considering, and they even had cuttle bone in there for them so that was nice to see. I quickly realized there was a lone little E in one of the tanks! I thought of someone putting him in a 10 gallon tank or, god forbid, a Kritter Keeper and got sad and contrasted that with my 75 gallon with plenty of climbing space in the topper... so, I bought him.

There's something about their eyes that makes them so adorable!
After dipping him in the fw, I set him down near the food and left the room. Came back and he's chowing down on some THCP Honey Coral Calcium. Glad he has an appetite already!

Agreed! I've always thought their eyes look cartoon-y

Awww...cute! :)

My petco had E's awhile back and had them labeled as purple pinchers lol.
I didn't get any though...I had just started and only had a 20g with 4 pps already and wasn't sure if I could care for them well because they were more exotic.
Livin' the Crazy crab life :P

Great find, and save!
My petco has E's, but they are labeled as "Fancy" hermit crabs, because they are in a painted shell.

They label the PP's as Land Hermit Crab.
