Meet my new Crabs (help me name them)
Hi,
After being introduced to these little guys and gals I could not resist jumpping on the hobby horse. I now own two intresting little crabs. I already see so much personality in them.
They both look like Es to my best guess. However one little guy burried under a few days after I got them so I can't be sure on him/her?. I am stumped right now on names so I thought I would ask for some help.
I dont have a picture right now. I will post one later. In the mean time I will try and be descriptive.
The one up is in a white and brown spotted shell after ditching the grey painted one he came with. He is small in size to my best understanding. His favorite spot is on top of a large piece of oak branch I have propped up in the tank. When he wakes up he tends to run around the parameter of the tank then promptly climb over everything before searching for the food I hide. (I like to move the shell I fill in a different spot. ) though lately he has been digging and then recovering his holes so might molt soon....or jist having fun.
The second is a small as well. It still has its yellow painted shell. It was very shy and tended to hide in the back of the tank. Right now its burried under so I dont know to much about its personality.

My first thought when you described him/her in the spotted white and brown shell, i thought of Hammy from Over the Hedge. He was the squirrel that had tons of energy and was all over the place.
Your shy one in the painted shell makes me think of Pearl from Finding Nemo. She was the shy squid.
Congrats on your new babies! can't wait to see pictures

Re: Meet my new Crabs (help me name them)
When I was a kid, I had a crab named Cookie with a similar shell. Sometimes food-related names can be adorable, like Nugget or Potato.
Something like "Squirt" would be cute for a small crab, too.
I also find it hilarious when people give common human names to their pets, like Michael or Steve, but that's not everyone's cup of tea

Re: Meet my new Crabs (help me name them)
I settled on names
Meet Squirt (1st picture) I like the name suggestion it reminds me of my grandfather who uses to call me squirt when I was small.
Meet Streaker (2nd picture) dubbed so because he came up with out a shell on after a molt making me worried for him he has since reshelled and stayed in it for the past 24 hours so yay.
