You might want to try covering the screen kid with a layer of Saran Wrap before the cardboard/blankets. I imagine the cardboard and blanket is sucking up the humidity. Plastic wrap will help keep it in.
Ultratherms are wonderful. They're safe to insulate and I found covering them with aluminum foil and cardboard really helps hold heat in,

Wonderful news this afternoon! I got the bubble pool going, and sealed all but a couple inches of the screen cover with duct tape. Now, my temps are in the high 70s and the humidity is over 80% for the first time ever! I may be able to get by without an Ultratherm at all.
It feels like a tropical paradise in the crabitat. Two of the crabs are out and very active this afternoon. Such a difference in their behavior!
