I love his personality, but he is total trouble. He actually changed shells in the car in the ISO tank on the way home, as if he were totally un-stressed and had not a care in the world. They were all his shells too-he acted like he'd never seen them before. He was happy to say Hi and seemed just to go with the flow. I put him in the main tank because he was clearly not diseased having lived with his previous family for years, and had recently molted and he seemed so relaxed, just doing normal crab things.
So, gave him a dip and put him in the tank. I watched him all night because he'd been so greedily checking out every shell in his ISO tank that I was worried about shell fights, even with a ton of shells in the tank. He first went for my sleeping, innocent straw, grabbing her by the back of the shell so I moved him to the shell shop to see what was there. He then he did the same thing to Clipper, whose sleeping spot is in the shell shop. Moved him onto the food dish, hoping to distract and calm him with some food. He went for my sleeping straw again, immediately. Moved the little fella into the moss pit. At this point my straw decides she is going to get her sleepy butt up and figure out what's going on. She and the new PP face off, and Saltie does some posturing and the new guy finally backs off and starts behaving himself and I haven't had a problem with him since (other than he has completely trashed my tank-he's been at it for hours). I love his spunk, but he reminds me of an out of control two year old. To be honest I have a soft spot for the ornery ones.
So, this is Slipknot. He's a medium.

There is one more I added (not an adoption) who was a beautiful medium missing a leg. I knew she'd have to molt soon and I knew she'd have a better chance if she molted with me, so I bought her. She is very docile and shy. She already changed shells and went down. She is alone in ISO, but I didn't want to put Mr. bully pants in there with her. I can't wait till she comes up, she is so pretty. Her name is Wharf.
