Hi! I just became a new crabber while on vacation in Chincoteague Island this year! I bought one of those poor painted-shell hermies at the beach shop, but it didn't survive long after the 9 hour ride home in a not-so-great home! Since finding this site, I upgraded to a regular aquarium with all the "right" stuff, thanks to all of you, and bought 2 new ones on Petsmart's receiving day.
They are big and beautiful and friendly! One is named Crabiliscious and the other is Posiedon. Both are already eating from a hand-held plastic spoon, don't run from me t all, don't bury themselves, and Crabiliscious changed into a new shell last night! How awesome! I could watch them for hours!
I love reading all the posts, especially about what others favorite foods are! I will soon be upgrading to a bigger tank and, yes, probably more crabs, as I was warned! They are so addictive!
Thanks for all the good advice!
New Mom, Happy crabs!
