This is the crab I adopted today. I was done with PPs after the Es possibly murdered my other PPs but then someone I contacted 6 weeks ago just asked if I would just come get their hermit crab. They were sold the same bill of goods many of us were about low maintenance etc.
He's a beautiful smallish PP in a Panda shell. My son named him Woody (keeping with the Toy Story theme). He was living in a plastic and wire cage with 1/2"-1" coco fiber (dry). The cool thing is the owners had natural shells available for him to change into (and the other painted shells in a storage compartment). Sponge in water dish and "crab cakes" for food.
I set up new crab in ISO with egg shells, PB, honey, grape, and shrimp. Last I checked Woody was in the eggshell dish eating--not sure which one, I didn't want to stress him more after making him pose for photos. He also took a dip in the FW pool and checked out the SW pool.
I plan to get my Es into a 40b gallon asap and I'll keep the PP in the 28g hex. Now I need to adopt a species buddy for him.
