I'm super excited after several years of being crabless I finally have crabs again. Tonight I got 2 PPs and 2 Es. The PPs I named Knit and Purl. The Es I named Dweeble and Hunty.

How long has it been since you had them?? I know I sure missed having mine after I lost them all a couple of years back.

Almost a decade. I had lost mine and then moved a few times and never got my tank set back up. I finally got stuff rearranged and got my beautiful 55 gallon tank out of the storage unit and started to get all the supplies I no longer had.

Congrats! They are so cute!

I too am an old time crabber getting back into the hobby. I had mad losses like purpleperson, got disheartened, got divorced, moved around 4 times cutting back on my stored supplies with each move (not crabbing during this time). Then I moved a crossed the country to a much smaller house (but paid for so worth it) and REALLY had to cut down on what I could take. Now I'm here and I have the costs of all the start up all over again-EVERYTHING. :x :( Before I moved 6 months ago I had a 90 gallon tank w/stand, a 55, and a 40B along with some little ISOs, and of course much more. If only I had all that stuff back-but there's no way I could have kept it-and I tried.......Ironic I start again after every last crab supply was finally sold or given away.

Agree..price of things have gone up..try dollar tree for your fake plants and food bowls. You might want to 're read over some sections like care..If you are new to this site but not new this hobby you might find that there are many different variations on how people THINK crabs should be cared for.. store owners are big mis leaders and there are a lot of you tube vids out there that we have watched and we just have to scratch our heads and get on here & vent!! I have had many crabs and lost many..some to bad kilts and then to a bully crab. I got mine cause my son decided he didn't want them when he went to college. They started in 5 gallon tank in all the wrong conditions now I have a boy and girl in a 55 gal tank. My boy is an original from 2009 the girl is from 2011..welcome back to crabbing
