Lots of people believe its a good idea to provide the optimum conditions right off the bat, but some also argue that the crabs need to slowly adjust to new temp/humidity levels so they don't suffer 'shock'. So they slowly bump up their temp/humidity to approach the optimum levels over a few weeks period.
During this period, they offer a lot of healthy healing foods and sometimes reduce the substrate to the bare minimum. This can discourage them from digging in too deep and molting before recovering and getting their strength back up, which can seemingly lead to bad molts and death

I've heard very good things about this method. But what I'm wondering is, is it worth doing this if I know they're coming from acceptable conditions? As in, good humidity, low-optimal temperature (72-75) and decent diet?
I've been thinking about using less substrate to start with, to make sure they eat and to keep an eye on them the first week or so.
TLDR; Should I try post-purchase-stress adjustment to acclimatise to a 5 degree farenheit difference or go straight to 80?
And is starting with minimal substrate a good idea, or do you guys think I should top up to the recommended 6 inches?
I just wanna do whatever is safest and least stressful for the crabs
