Not climbing?

Post by casssch » Sun Mar 08, 2015 10:35 pm

Do all crabs enjoy climbing? I'm not sure if mine have gone up to the second levels or in the pools at all. Granted, I've only had them a few days. My main reason for being curious is I just got their shells. I put some on ground level, mainly the ones I think the two that are up would like. The other shells are on a second level. Also, one of the crabs that dug down really needs a bigger shell, and the ones that would fit her are on the second level.

I have plenty crabs that almosta never climb. However almost everything (food, water, shells) require a climb to the top. I will spot crabs upwards when they want/need to be, then they spend all their time under in between. Crabs are generally VERY good at taking care of their selves and getting whatever they need. As long as there is a direct path, they will reach everything no problem.

Give them some more time. They'll figure it out. ;)

So cleaning the tat today (removing old food, changing water), I found proof they are climbing everywhere - crab poo EVERYWHERE! And lots of dirt in the water dishes. And considering I've only seen evidence of 2/4 crabs, they are messy little beasts.
