new crab question
Hello all! I have not been on here in a long time! I did have two crabs and one passed away awhile back, he had a bad molt and did not make it
I have one crab left and one of my local pet stores recently started carrying a few hermit crabs at a time. They have one crab available that I am interested in, it is just a little smaller than my current crab. When the store employee took the crab out of the tank to show it to me, the crab right away pinched his palm. Is this a bad sign? Do you think he will be aggressive with my current crab? I would like to get her a partner soon, but don't want it to turn out to be a disaster. Any input would be helpful, thanks. Or if you need to know any other info, let me know! Thanks!

Proud owner of two Purple Pinchers, Toki and Doki = ) and two lovable pit bulls that I love

Re: new crab question
I had a crab pinch me twice just trying to get him into the take home box. I named him Grumpy. He changed shells and has been sweet as can be since.
I have had him close to a year and he doesn't even open his claw when I aggrivate him.

#1 rule of crabbing - crabs are weird.

Re: new crab question
The way they react to us is a lot different than how they react to other crabs. We're giants plucking them from their world. I'd probably pinch too
