Climbing and Getting Stuck

So recently one of my hermies has discovered that he can use the seal in the corner of the tank to climb up and get up to the top of the tank. I have a lid on so he can't get out, but he seems to get stuck there like a cat up a tree. I though maybe if I put the climbing stick back under him (which I had moved to prevent more climbing to the lid which obviously wasn't effective) that he would use it to climb back down, but yesterday he was still up there when I came back from work 9 hours later. He needs to eat and get water!! I GENTLY got him off finally, but this morning he's already back up there. Are there any tips for preventing them from climbing the tank seal?

I think some ppl use some plastic things called corner guards to keep them from climbing the silicone but 2 of mine hang from the mesh lid for hours at a time and they seem to figure it out when they want to come down

Mine are often spider-walking along the bottom of the lid. They get up and down just fine. :)

I have a few that love to dangle from the lid, too. It's safe to assume that if they got up there without help, they can get down without help either. Worst case, they'll just drop and land on the sand and be perfectly fine.

Okay thanks everyone! It's true, this time when I came home he'd gotten himself down. I guess I'll let him do his thing!
