I’m here in Myrtle Beach for vacation and last year I brought 2 crabs home to Boston area. My original plan was to drive and rescue a few more in those horrible cages but this time we flew. Does anyone know if your allow to carry on crabs or how to bring them home in my luggage safely?

You need to speak to your airline and find out what TSA regs are on taking live animals on the plane are.

What do you mean by taking them home safely in your luggage? Your checked baggage or your carry on?

I like to carry them on I just don’t know the airline rules. It’s a 2 hr flight.

Regardless of the flight time, airlines may/may not allow it. Asking them directly would be the best solution.
If not, Id recommend having a plan B and let someone adopt them thats in the area and can help if needed.

Get. It. In. Writing.
There have been MANY cases of people calling in and okaying it with the airline only to run into an employee from heck at the gate who will refuse to let you through unless you throw them in the trash. Yes, the trash.
And some airlines will insist on pet fee for each crab, same as a dog or cat. Please do not ever hide them in luggage as they will not be treated as a living creature and can easily end up killed.

Though it broke my heart not take home a few more, I walked away. The good news is that I scored 15 new shells at The *** Dolphin!! Next year I’ll drive!
