All of my crabs stay underground all day and night
Hi everyone, I was just wondering if this is normal behavior or if something is wrong with my setup. I have had my crabs for just over a month and a half now. I had 4 but one unfortunately passed away a or so week after I got them presumably from pps. My other 3 now have been hiding and I haven't seen any of them out at all in the past two weeks. I know it's normal for crabs to be under for a long time but I thought it was odd because all 3 of them are staying under. They are all small, about 1 inch. Temp ranges from 75-85 F and humidity stays around 85-90%. I started feeding them varieties of fruits, veggies, meat etc a couple weeks ago after reading the guides on here. One crab did switch shells just before he stopped coming above ground. I do think they may come up every other night or so because the food will look like it's been eaten. I don't want to mess with them in case they're molting. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

That's what my crabs do except mine don't really eat drink or go in the saltwater. I sometimes dip one of them in the saltwater and or freshwater then place them where they can smell the moist commercial food I have for them. I moist it myself. The food brand is, "A world THRIVE or wonder" In case anyone was wondering. P.s. A tip for seeing if they come out at night is to smooth out the sand around the dishes before you go to bed and you in the morning you could see claw prints in the sand and dirt in the bowl. I have never tried this before but I heard it works. ( I use EE instead of sand switching to EE and play sand soon)

Crabs carry a mix of fresh and salt water in their shells, they mix it to what they need. Bathing or dipping them into water can disrupt the balance, and is not recommended.
