Moving tank to put on UTH

Post by Hermiearth » Mon Apr 24, 2017 12:01 am

I finally got myself a nice UTH from reptile basics but than realized I have zero idea how I am going to get it on to the back of the tank. With a 60g with 8 inches of sub It won't be easy. I could probably move it with some help but than I would be concerned about collapsing molters tunnels. Is there anyway I could do this safely?

My 20gL sits on a heavy, somewhat antique dresser and between that and how heavy the tank is there was no way of moving either to access the back. The UTH got placed on the front which seems to work fine for me. It does cut down on viewing area but my guys don't mind. It creates a nice dark, warm area - I placed some moss down there and the shell shop is above it so that's where they usually are during the day...Or sleeping/pooping in the shell shop[FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY][FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY][FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]

Thanks, I wasn't clear on why this is a component of acceleration

NCGirl19 - not to derail the topic, but I'm glad someone else's crabs poop in the shell Shoppe lol. I keep wondering if mine are trying to yell me they don't like the choices I offered.

I'm also curious to find out how one would install a uth under a 300+ pound tank. XD

Well UTH's aren't supposed to go under the tank. They go on the back side above sub level (:
