So I was doing some spot cleaning and when I picked up my food dish, there were quite a few pieces of Exo laying in the sub. No crab, no tunnel. 3 of my 5 are down. I'm just worried that this could be a sign of a dead crab. They never seem to be up all at once so it's hard to keep a count of them. There's no smell at all, And humidity/temp are both spot on, and sub is perfect sandcastle...

Re: Random pieces of Exo
They normally won't finish the very ends of their claws and legs because the exo is so thick it's not worth the energy it takes to break it apart. You may also find various thinner bits. If it's a lot it might be a reason to be concerned, but if it's just a smattering it could be normal leftovers. Once the crabs have been in the tank for a molt or three, it starts to work it's way up to the surface, I've found.

This was like the whole side of the BP and a few leg tips. I tossed it in the eggshell dish. Didn't think much of it until later.

Re: Random pieces of Exo
From what I've read, leftover BP is pretty common.
I was briefly alarmed a few weeks ago when I found a leg - I knew right away whose it was because it was too small to tell if it was just exo or a leg, and I only have one small... Buuuut then I went to mist the moss and newly molted small was in there. Still it isn't a nice feeling, being unsure (even if you know it's probably fine).
