Hello.
I have a bag of OCEANIC Natural Salt Mix that makes 5 gallons.
I keep a quart of salt water in the fridge to refill the salt water dish (I already used another smaller batch to mix the substrate).
The bag is 1.45 pounds so doing the math it seems that I would need about .08 lbs per quart. (.29lb per gallon ~ 4oz).
So all you math folks... doesn't that mean 1.28 ounces per quart?
It's just easier for me to make little batches at a time to store.
Thanks for allowing me to bounce this off...

Re: Small batch of salt water
Here ya go!

All of the major salt brands are measured the same, depending on how much you need:
1 gallon of water to ½ cup of salt mix
½ gallon (which is 2 quarts) of water to ¼ cup salt mix
1 Pint (which is 2 cups) of water to 1 Tablespoon (which is 3 teaspoons) salt mix
1 cup of water to ½ Tablespoon (which is 1 and ½ teaspoon) of salt mix
