So last week, I fed my crabs a mixture of scrambled eggs, crushed shells, shrimp and shrimp tail. I put the finished mixture into the ice cube trays and wrap it in Saran Wrap and finally in aluminum foil.
I put one in the tat on Monday of last week around 4:00 before heading home and it was GONE when I came in at 7:00 the next morning. I decided since they liked it so much, they would enjoy some more and put another block in Friday afternoon before I left for the weekend. When I came in this morning, it looked like they hadn't touched it!
I was running late, so I couldn't open the tat until around 1:30.
Ummm...
Ew.
It was like an explosion of nasty, shrimpy, rotten egg smells that burned the lining of my nostrils. It was so bad that a teacher TWO DOORS DOWN asked if one of my crabs died. I sprayed Lysol in my room (stopped my bubbler and my tank is wrapped with press-n-seal) and the smell quickly overpowered it.
We are now in the computer lab on the other end of the hall and it is slowly getting better. I think it's permanently stuck in my nose...I'd open the windows, but we are currently in a monsoon here in the western are of NC.
All I could say was...
...At least it wasn't a dead Crab...
