HCA: Hermit Crab Association

From Athena's perspective:
Today that human came to the tank and dropped food in for us! It was honey and granola! I walked over to it, looked at it, and walked away, much to human's displeasure. After a while, I went off to my faaavorite spot under the log! I was napping, when all of a sudden, Hermes came over and shoved me out of the spot! I was not happy! Apparently, though, it's his favorite spot too. Later, human came in and put us in a little bowl, or I assume it was a bowl, as I stayed in my shell the whole time. When she set us back in our home, it was different! Things were rearranged and there was new, softer sand! I liked the old place better, but this one has more hide-outs!

From Hermes' perspective:
We got more yummy food today! Of course, I didn't even react when I noticed she put it in, as I was too busy shoving Athena out of my spot! How dare she be in my spot!? Later on, she put us in a bowl! My natural reaction was to climb out, but the walls were too steep! After a bit, she put us back in, and to my surprise, the home was super different! The sand was orange and soft, the log was far away, and there was a new climber toy, which of course I had to try out (I'm still working on getting up there!). I really like this place now!

From Chara's perspective:
Today I went to the store and bought more food and a new heater and substrate for the hermies. They seem to like it a lot! I caught Hermes shoving Athena around again, that rude little bugger. They didn't even care when I added the food, but I assume they will eat it tonight. They seem more active with the heater on, so that's good.

Yes! Please continue, I loved it! I love thinking about how they would react to things in a human-like perspective. It’s even better getting to read it from someone else.

We were doing that with AJ. He has an injured bp and we give him medicinal baths. Today he was like "no, I don't want a bath!" Then after he was in, he was like "ooohh, warm!"

salsas perspective:

today the human took me out of the cage. when i got back in, not only did i find more toys, space, and shells, but i found two new freinds! one is named mango. the other, shadow. the human pays speciel attention to them and i am so jealus! he even moved the food bowl to their favorite spot! but he makes up for it by letting me climb on his arm and giving me coconut treats! also, acorn is scared of shadow, even though he is twice shadow size! UPDATE: shadow AND acorn are down molting. i am ever so lonely, but today mango came up in my favorite spot and sat down beside me and fell asleep. i dont let acorn on my spot because he always uses my shell to piggy-back ride down. but mango was nice and quiet so i let him be. then the human started taking pictures with the mysterius black rectangle. then i acted un interesting and he went away, and came back with honey! it was so good!

perspective from mango:

i treid the calcium block. it was good. i am still getting used to this new place. i am very shy but love to climb and sleep with my new best freind salsa. i am also good at annoying acorn. i follow him around and stare at him while he cleans himself. acorn is also nice. oh no, the human is back. RUN!

AJ:
Had a fun day of climbing and eating! Human is back! Must hide! Dig fast! No bath!

That's so funny- now here's a page from the diary of Angelo the hermit crab:

I was just taking a midnight stroll through the tank when I began to feel hungry. I scurried towards the food dish to see what the human had given me. It was Almond butter (my favorite!). Just as I made my way to get the first claim, however, that rude Shelldon snuck up behind me and pushed me roughly and I landed shell first in the ooey gooey Almond butter! To make things worse, the human had also given us a treat of honey to go with the almond butter so it stuck. My human noticed it in the morning, so she got a tooth brush and, to my dismay, gave my beloved shell a good hard scrubbing! When I told Bubbles and Sandy about it later on, they didn't believe me and said that I must have been clumsy and had fallen in myself- but I knew I hadn't. Alas, It was all Shelldon's fault, even though, I'm afraid, no one will ever know.

Its true, too. Shelldon really IS a bully. Everyone is scared of him, especially little Bubbles. Sandy's scared of him too, even though he's just as big as he is! But the funny part is whenever I change the water or food dishes, he's more scared of me that any of my other Crabs!
