HCA: Hermit Crab Association

i have crab, coconut, that was a gift from the pet store that i have had for a few months, and she does have a like a lavender purple pincher and all her other legs are this very soft lavender as well
she doesn’t look like any pp or e i’ve ever had so i wasn’t sure because i am not familiar with crabs other than es and pps (since that’s all i’ve owned)

It's hard to say without a photo, but most often crabs from a pet store are PPs. They come in a wide range of purple shades. I would imagine that's what Coconut is.

That description sounds like a PP. They come in a range of browns and purples.

Possibly blueberry/viola but I'd bet pp, they are way more common at pet stores and if it's claw is darker in color it's safe to say you have a pp.

Lilas have entered the pet store trade recently, however they tend to be in privately owned pet stores, and are sold for more money. They also have orange antenna, and have wider eyes like Ecuadorians.
