Wall on outside of tank.

I'm just curious...

Some hermit crab books I've read suggest putting paper or some kind of background on the inside/outside of the tank, on 1-3 of the sides. They claim the crabs get stressed out with all the glass walls around them. Is putting a background on something any one here does?

I do, the regular paper/vinyl ones for fish tanks work with heat mats
