its possible i just didn't use the first device correctly and its actually my fault only based
on my own ignorance. Each day is a new lesson for me in crabbing haha

so it turns out the humdiity in my tank was just WAY to high. I adjusted it for this ultra hot summer but using a screen lid instead of a glass top with a little plastic wrap over it its at 82/87 right now and hovering there. Before this the humidity was so high 80's pushing 90 % with the glass versa top. so my plan is mesh lid with plastic wrap summer and glass lid with heater and bubblers going in the fall/winter. but now since i made these adjustments the gauges (old and new) are reading at normal temps. i think i just had too much humidity going on.

im going to go ahead and explain the tests i ran today:
used mesh lid, with some surran wrap gauge matched my other one (for the most part)
tried mesh lid with glass over surran only covering one corner. Bumped up to about 88 percent
(temp always stays around 80-85 in my house this summer. Than switched back to my versa top solid
glass lid, this is when the 99 percent starts. My other guage is reading about 90 % with the glass lid
while this digital is reading at 99 percent. so all i can guess is what when humidity is 90 or above this gauge
just bumps all the way up to 99 %. (this is the new unit btw). This one i had no poked into the sub just have it
dangling an inch above the tank on the corner where there is no moss pit or water above the cocohut.
So still for now, i can only go by my one gauge, because it was 75 after salt test. I think this unit works until
humidity is around 90 than seems to go haywire.

going to call it a day, and order one of those fluker digitals.
one thing i can say is especially with the glass lid i have no
issues keeping humidity up, just seems to be on the higher end...causing
the unit to not read correctly with it.
