Airflow

Post by MrTeacherDude » Mon Aug 22, 2016 2:17 pm

Do I need holes in my crabitat lid for airflow? I had some holes drilled in my lid, but we always have creepy crawly things here at school so I covered them with some tape. Will that make the humidity too high? I use heat lamps (right now until my UTH shows up) so it dries out the air some, but I do have an air stone in my FW pool. Is the tape OK over the holes?

You do not need holes. There will be enough air exchange when the lid is opened for feeding and watering.

Will it be fine overnight? It's in my classroom and I'm leaving until about 7:30 tomorrow morning...

As long as your temps and humidity is in good range, they'll be fine.

Temp is a hair over 80° and I've got moisture on the glass on the inside.

Can humidity get TOO high? Earlier today my hygrometer shot up to 78%, which when calculating for the 20% that's it's low is a humidity of 98%. I left the lid open for a few minutes and it's regulated to around 88-89%

From what i heard too high isn't bad it just can cause mold. My levels are high and I'm trying to hit the 85 % mark but it always goes up to 88 or 90 lately.
