Cypress bedding safe?

Post by Todd135 » Fri Oct 28, 2016 4:31 am

Does anyone know if the petsmart "all living things" premium cypress bedding is safe?
I keep hearing/reading conflicting things about it.

No, unfortunately as the pieces can get caught in a shell and puncture the crab's abdomen. I'm going to link our substrate guide as it will list the most common materials/ brands used. viewtopic.php?f=26&t=92542

Is there any evidence that this has actually happened, or is this just more helicopter-parent-esque care giving?
Currently the caretaker for:
Six hermies in 37G bow front, and two more in a ten-gallon tank.

I build websites, and blog about ebooks.

No clue. I've never tried it. I have seen several people mention it, so maybe I am parroting. However, even if it wouldn't hurt them, it wouldn't hold tunnels as it would not stay moist properly, and it being moist long term would probably cause it to mold.
