Something inside empty shell :/

I was moving some of the shells in the shell shack around and noticed this black stuff inside of one. None of the crabs have used this shell yet so when I initially put it in like a month ago, it was totally clean. What are these black spots in there? They are kind of oval shaped and clear-ish in the centers. I moved the shell around a lot to get a better view and to try to get pics of it. They are kind of scattered but looks like there is a lot more of them towards the inside of the shell. Any ideas of what they are and how to clean them out??

Mine poop in the empty shells all the time. It's their personal potty spot. I used to get annoyed, then I realized how easy it is to clean up poo that way and I got over it.

I never see poo any where else but in empty shells! Of course it they would poop in my shell shop... they are considerate like that!

I have never seen any crab poop....tonight im going to check out all the empty shells! Hahahaha
