I set a fruit fly trap on top or nearby the crabitat. I take an old food container, poke some small holes in the lid (or plastic wrap). Put apple cider vinegar inside with a drop or two of dish soap gently mixed in. The vinegar draws them in and the dish soap ensures they can't just sit on the surface and fly away. Be sure to refresh it often. Once it fills up with flies, they aren't drawn to it as much.

Also, go ahead and switch to dried crab foods for a while, until you get the flies under control. They're a nuisance but won't harm your crabs.

You might want to figure out where they are coming from and correct that and you will find your flies will disappear over time. When I had them I found on different times I had brought in a plant that had been out side, one other time my father law had given us so much veggies from his garden they were going bad and didn't know it and hot humid weather mixed with garbage not being taken out enough is enough for those those buggery little pest to invade our tanks. Also keep the garbage disposals empty helps to..

Honestly I get them every fall. If I bring bananas into the house, boom. They're here. If I keep dry food in the tank and fresh fruits in the fridge, no problem. But the second I offer fresh foods to the crabs...
