Burlap Ribbon Safe?

Does anyone know if this burlap ribbon from hobby lobby is safe?

That looks too beautiful to crab with
the crabs muck it all up and pinch it up. Are you going to wrap/weave it? That would make it stronger.
I am not familiar with that, but you can try boiling it to sterilize it for crabbing.

Does it have any additives or chemicals? If it were me I would boil it in salt water and use it. I haven't heard of it being bad but someone may know better than I do.
I looked it up.
http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/5-1 ... on-315804/ it says it is 100% jute burlap. Sounds safe!

Oooh I love burlap ribbon! I ought to grab a roll to wrap around my shell shop and moss pit to make them less ugly.
Craft stores are dangerous..haha.

well it's not very pretty but the crabs love it! I've only had it up for about 10 minutes and they've already climbed all over it!!
