Crabitat Re-Do

Took advantage of everyone being down for a molt to add/remove stuff in the crabitat. Gone is the two-tiered corner shelf, the plastic basket mosspit, the cork round and the small resin tree. Added is a resin mangrove tree with vines and a spunky yellow flower, a glass bowl mosspit, a plastic basket shell shop and a small ReptiHammock. The mangrove tree has a wide clearing between its "legs" in which both the leaf bowl and food dish nicely fit.

Charles Paris came up from his molt on 12/22 and seems to like the new look. Mr Pinch came up yesterday, ate, swam and disappeared again so I don't know his opinion yet  .

It's a flat-topped resin tree from the PetSmart aquarium/reptile collection. The hole in the top allowed me to run the stem of the yellow flower down into one of the "legs" without having to do any cutting. My plan was to make a DIY mangrove tree from the instructions posted by another crabber a few months ago; however neither Petco nor PetSmart had any bendable reptile vines in stock when I went looking but PetSmart did have this resin tree and it was on sale!!!!

Well, the glass bowl moss pit ended up retaining too much moisture on the bottom so I removed it last night and put the deep triangular shower caddy in as the new moss pit. Removed the suction cups, threaded leafy stalks into the empty suction cup holes and popped it on the substrate in the back corner where the bowl had been. It looks a lot cozier and secluded so I hope the boys will like it. Also added a suspended shell shop for small shell for Charles Paris -- it's attached to the front wall and can be accessed from either the branch or the Repti Hammock. Charles Paris is so much smaller than the other three he tends to get tromped on, so having a little shell shop all his own should help...at least until Big Enzo comes up from his molt and trashes everything in his search for that perfect shell!
