Can someone please explain to me in detail how to install a

Right now I'm using it above my mesh lid with a little plastic wrap to fill in a gap with some opening for air it works fine but want to properly install i can't figure it out can anyone help with pictures and steps the instructions just show how to put the handle on. Any help appreciates thanks

Oh, I have no experience with versatops. I just cut plexiglass to size that I ordered from amazon and put it under a wire screen lid from Dr's Foster and Smith.

Is it a glass versatop hinged top??

If it is, the handle should just have a strip of paper at base that you peel away and underneath is a strip of doubles stick tape. Find out where you want your handle on the versatop, clean spot off with a little rubbing alcohol and fan dry then press down firmly. Thing will not move after you do that so be sure it's in a place u want it. I had issues putting the back plastic strip on. I've put 3 of these together and out of all 3, only 1 went on without a bit of sweat . Best to slide on one side first (like the corner of the guard onto corner of glass edge and slowly with moderate pressure push rest of guard down one by one going down rest of glass with guard. I have weak hand strength so it took me a few tries! Hope that helps!

That's what i can't figure out. And yes it's a glass one i know how the handle attaches with 3m sticky but the blue plastic thing where do i put that and how does the glass attach to that ? For now I'm using it above my mesh lid with some surran wrap as well. I really would like to not have the mesh lid as 2 of my crabs climb and never get down which makes feeding and cleaning difficult

ok i was able to push the blue piece on to the plastic than cut some air holes and put it on the lid.
would have been nice if i knew that the blue thing WENT ON THE GLASS not on the actual tank.
proper instructions would have been nice. thank god for youtube. Anyway it doesn't seem secure to
me so i may tape the blue thing onto the back to make sure it doesn't slide off in anyway, hopefully
this works out. I suppose if there is too much humidity with this thing i can always go back
to mesh lid with half plastic wrap and this over the other side, honestly it was working just
fine that way. I still don't get why people cut out plexi glass when they can just buy one of these
and put it on top of a mesh lid? it was super cheap too.

I used plexiglass first and paid less than $10 for the two pieces together on Amazon.

I then discovered that my cats liked to sit on top of the tank which caused the plexiglass to bend.

I have no problems with my crabs climbing and hanging upside down off the mesh, they live in trees and forested areas in the wild, they love to climb.

Also I will not have glass tops on my tanks because I have cats and children and accidents happen.

And I paid less than $20 shipped for everything I used for my lids.

I'm a single parent and crab on a budget. They were a surprise for my son. I never intended to become the DFW metroplex crab rescue, but I have.

Different people do what works best for them when crabbing. I have multiple large tanks to keep up, versatops would not be ideal for my home.

Gotcha my cat is not interested in the crabs in the least and i have no children so that's no issue for me seems to be working out this way may just keep it like this

Can u take a picture of this blue piece that goes on the glass? We didn't have any for ours. Will see if I can get a pic of our top and post here for u to compare.

by blue piece i mean the plastic piece (mine has a blue tint) that your air tubes are runnign though. i think i know what to do now
i did cut though a few tiny air holes (just because im paranoid) hopefully that wont be an issue.

Ok! Great! The extra little air holes shouldn't be an issue but with the bubblers in there, the hermies are getting plenty moving air in the tat:) I have to agree with you though, the instructions that come with the versatops are pretty vague to useless. I watched plenty of YouTube as well! Lol! Hope it works out for u! They have been a huge help for us in maintaining the humidity and I love that the crabbies still find a way to hang upside down from these tops
