Finally...

Finally got all four moved to my 75G! Just happened to come in one day last week and the 2 that were still in the old tank were up. Crazy, haven't seen them in 2 weeks and they come up on the same day...I wonder how confused they were when they re-emerged and EVERYTHING was gone except their food and water!

They seem to like it. They all stayed in the moss pit for about 5 days. Now a few have retaken their spot in "The Rock", one is under the big log and the last one will not give up his moss pit...

I'm hoping to get my tubing for the humidifier this weekend or next, but it doesn't seem to be bothering them...

*EDIT: My students LOVE them. I have a few who come in each morning and spot clean and change food for me (I just think they don't want to sit in the hallway before the bell...)

Yay! It's so nice (and rare) when crabs actually cooperate and reappear when you need then to. Great to hear that your students are pro-active with their care -- do any of your students have hermit crabs of their own?

Looking good... your chia patch looks so lush! I must have one! Can you just use chia seeds from the bulk store? Will they sprout?

In the eating aisle, or the planting aisle?

They grow and die fast! Also, be aware your crabs may eat the seeds before they sprout If chia is a fave in the tank!

I found them in our Walmarts Organic foods section. I planted this BEFORE I moved my crabs over. They've just started munching on it so I don't expect it to be there much longer.

It's funny I've had seeds sprout where I didn't plant them...sneaky crabs moved the chia!

Then I'll do plugs of chia, in tiny little pots (I have a million or so from my teeny succulent plant addiction), so that once one patch is mowed, I can add another. (Take THAT, destructive crabs!) I will dominate in the war for lush chia planting. But how fast do they die?
