Is this lid ok

Post by kieagcarm » Thu Oct 20, 2016 7:21 pm

Got my new tank and lid, is this lid good enough?Image the tank is brand new, still had the box around it, but the lid is not. Looks like the glued plastic on so the filter of the tank it was on would fit.

This lid works, it is the exact one I have and is called Aqueon Versa-Top glass lid. Does it cover the entirety of your tank?

Maybe it will come in handy for the tube to the bubbler

i had to get my boyfriend (i have weak hands) to push mine into place....then my humidity was too high so i leave it just over the gap. occasionally ill even move it to let a little air in. works great for m.

It's perfect. That's the same type of lid I have, it should really help with your humidity issues. :D

:/ I would but one of them in a tupperware container/ or somehow divide the tank to keep them from each other until morning and try to get some rest. Even the original plastic like container you got them in in the main tank would work. They will survive until you can get them proper shells. You are so close I promise! Try not to stress too much. If kept separate they can't hurt each other, and once there is enough shells you should not have any issues.

But I have lots of good shells, from naples and deltona and etsy, I even put every shell I have in there to see if that made a difference. Gary does not want the shells, just herImageI put Gary in the moss pit and he went under it. Hopefully he will stay in there. Yeti is hiding behind the tree hut and baby biz is in the rock cave

When you put them in the new tank did you dunk them both in the Fw pool to make sure they all "smell" the same.

Same top we have as well:) I cut little slits on one side so our tubing for the bubblers could fit snugly there. The little gap there is totally normal and also helps with a little air circulation

No, I didn't know to do that. They were all together in the last tank. Should I do that tonight when they are up

I agree with Just Jay! I think for some it is more of a personal preference but when we have a newbie crab, new tank, or recently molted crab, I give them a quick dunk in the FW. I also had a time when one hermie was a little bit of a bully to one of our smaller ones so I took both of them and dipped them both in the FW pool together and they seemed to both forget about what the problem was in the first place Image
