Questions about sub and bubbler

First question is, do you guys push down your sub so it's more right, compact, or do you leave it loose?
Second is about this new bubbler I set up. It's supposed to help with my humidity, right? How often do I change I the water now that it's set up? And is it normal for crabs to submerge completely for a few minutes, then hang onto the air stone like it's a lover? Lol

1. I let it do it's own thing, eventually all the substrate will settle, but if I see any hole entrances I'll smooth it out a bit so they don't try to bury any food or Enoch's shells.
2. I change my water every week on Monday. And yes, the crabs can and will submerge and chill out with the air stones.

With a bubbler you can actually get a way with another day or so between water changes (depending on the dish size/evaporation rate). The oxygen and constant movement keeps the water more fresh. As for holding onto it, think of it like a crabby jacuzzi lol.

Same as above. The sub will settle on its own and u may notice when it settles u will lose a little bit of height - I think mine settled and decreased the depth of my sub by like 1/2 an inch almost! I also change our waters once a week. We have one crab that liked to put his face in the bubblers

Nothing like a spa day!!!

I need to set up bubblers soon. Maybe later today I could take a wire cutter to my lid to cut tiny holes for the air tubes
