HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Last night I heard some angry chirping but I ignored it because Herbit chirps on a regular basis no matter what. But it kept going and so I looked over and all I could see was the plant moving back and forth. I saw friendlyfeat on top of Sputnik holding onto his shell and angrily trying to throw him back and forth. I pulled friendlyfeat off and went back to bed for two min until the second occurance. Friendlyfeat glared at me and sometime in the night disappeared. Turns out he is in the log. Odd because they are such good friends.

One reason they rock another shell back and forth is because they want that shell for themselves. Do you have plenty of extra shells in there for the aggressor to choose from?

Oh yes, so many. I need to get more though. The thing is that they are both in the same size and type of shell right now. (The terrible painted ones they came in). Both of them are in shells that are too small for them. I keep hoping they'll change, I have plenty for them. My PP changed right away and my other PP tried many on but went back to his old one. He seems to be calming down in the log now. Which is very unlike him.

my little Babe likes to "piggy back ride" Ghost because he has a spiky shell (and she's lazy LOL). they don't fight, but Ghost tends to roll over because he can't hold her for long. yours sounds more like a fight though. mine are just clumsy oofs :roll: and Ghost always seems to be on the bottom because his spiky shell is easy to climb over
