sterilzing an item to put in crabitat
sterilzing an item to put in crabitat
We are setting up a new crabitat and my kids and I want to put in a plastic fairy house. It's been outside and is wet and dirty. DO I need to sterilize it and if so, how?

Yes. Boil it in dechlorinated fresh water for at least 5 minutes.Mittmom wrote:We are setting up a new crabitat and my kids and I want to put in a plastic fairy house. It's been outside and is wet and dirty. DO I need to sterilize it and if so, how?

I wouldn't boil plastic. Maybe pour hot water or scrub with a weak vinegar solution... but certainly wouldn't place anything plastic with boiling water, which can warp it.

I would wash with dishsoap and rinse extremely well.
