If it doesnt say aquariums on it i wouldn't risk it as companies do add chemicals used in treating mould for example.

All the aquarium forums and terrarium forums seem to agree GE silicone 1 is safe once fully cured. There is some debate over the GE silicone 2.

I used it to stick rocks in my water dishes and haven't had any issues.

What do you plan on using it for?

To put rocks on a ramp for pools and to glue hooks to walls to hang baskets...

I recently picked up a 125G tank from another member here. They had holes drilled in the trim to ziptie things. I think this idea is better than using silicone to permanently stick hooks... Or using command strips/hooks that fail.

Edit - holes on the inside lip of the trim. Not through the glass of tank. This will shatter the glass.

As long as the tank is empty it should work. Just use as little as possible so it cures quickly. The tube in your picture is probably way to much.

I don't know how heavy the baskets will be but there's also something called RTV 108 if you need much stronger bond. This again is from reef aquarium forums, so I don't have personal experience with it. (I saved lots of notes when I built my first Hab)

The baskets are gonna be for the shell shop and moss pits everywhere maybe a ee pit...the shell shop would be the heaviest and that will only be a couple inches of the sub...I don't want to do anything permanent to the tank cause I inherited it when my dad passed and his dream was to always turn it in to a salt water aquarium and I would love to be able to make that a reality for him down the road...
