Hi guys I'm looking at an upgrade for my birthday and found this tank. It's originally for fish but was wondering if it would be ok to use for my hermits.
I know I could probably get a cheaper one off eBay or amazon or something but this one or one from one of these shops would be a bit easier for me.

It's less than 50 gallons, so keep that in mind.
It also doesn't come with any kind of lid, which is vital for holding both humidity and crabs in the tank.

I agree with Wodesorel. Also, for that kind of money, you could really get something bigger and cheaper off of Craigslist, Letgo or OfferUp. I know you said what you are looking at is easier for you, but buying something used is a lot more cost effective. Also, I personally prefer having more storage under my tanks

But that is me!

good luck!

For a tank less than 50 gallons, and you only get an empty tank, stand, and a light. You could easily get a used one from those websites suggested by GotButterflies. It’s a bit costly at $355, when I bought my aquarium with a stand, tank, and light for only $100. I suggest you get the cheaper deals from Craigslist!

I think she is in Australia? And since all their stuff is imported the prices on basic supplies would make us faint!

In australia, these apps/sites aren't commonly used. Best bet would be ebay or gumtree (maybe trading post, but terrible luck with that).
If you shop around, you can easily get a similar size tank with glass lids and stand for under $100... I managed to get one off eBay for $60 (with lid and stand)...

I will have a look at an online store. Would the tank break if it is sent or would I have to pick it up?

Aquariums of that size often have to be sent freight due to the size and weight. You'll have to check where you are looking at ordering, but that can double the price in some cases. (I have been looking for a smaller stand and it costs more to ship it then to buy it!)
Smaller tanks can be sent through the mail, but I have seen many people try to order exoterra through Amazon here in the states and have them arrive late and broken again and again.
Pick up is really the cheapest and fastest option.

Ok I will look into it. On an online converter it said that 50 gallons is equal to 170L roughly. Is that correct or no?

Maybe UK gallons? 50g is around 190L, so yours is just shy of a 50g (around 45-48g range)

Oh ok. That's alright. I have three hermits at the moment. How many more would I be able to have when I upgrade?

I'd personally stay around 4 to 5 - any more, and i find that you will be upgrading in the near future! I also tend to reccomend to keep aussies at a lower stocking density in comparison to other species, as i find that they a bit more 'aggressive' in terms of moulting space and what not.

Ok. I've been looking at some tanks on gumtree as they are the cheapest. It doesn't say how many litres the tanks hold. One 4ft tank said it holds 240l but I'm not sure. Also I would have to pick the tank up which is fine but I am worried about it getting damaged on the way home.

A lot of them are 4 ft tanks would they be alright? Would they be big enough like 50 gallons?
