The bark needs to be from a tree off of the safe food list. The tree also needs to be from trees that are free from pesticides, fertilizers and free from areas that are not sprayed for mosquitoes.Hermie escape artist wrote:Not bark meant like any type of tree ? For the bark and tree branches

I believe it’s oak, definitely not an unsafe wood though.GotButterflies wrote:The bark needs to be from a tree off of the safe food list. The tree also needs to be from trees that are free from pesticides, fertilizers and free from areas that are not sprayed for mosquitoes.
@Stella - I would be careful of parks - some parks are treated with pesticides - especially if they allow dogs. It can also be illegal to harvest from parks!

The wood was collected from a private neighborhood, I said park because there was a playground there, but it’s very quiet, and filled with all sorts of wild animals and bugs such as isopods and forester ants.
It’s nothing like a public playground park that you’ll find in the city.
Sorry for not elaborating a bit more
Edit:
I baked the branches and leaves in the oven first, they didn’t have any bugs on the bark.
I know places without pesticides but idk what type of trees are around so ...stella wrote:@GotButterflies
I decided to email the board of the area, and they cleared me of pesticides
GotButterflies wrote:@Hermie escape artist - you can look up what trees are in your area by looking for the arbor society of your stateThen look up leaf identification online
You also want to check to make sure they don't spray for mosquitoes in your area.
