I have learned heat lamps are not the way to go they burn holes through the plastic and are a fire hazard that way but if you can somehow have the lamp hang over your tank would he preferred, (8in away from tank) setting it on the tank would require to take off the plastic which decreases humidity, just buy a flukers heat mat or ultratherm heat map to increase heat if you arent worried about heat having a light on during the day isnt a problem just to see them

What particular one would you recommend?Hermiesguardian wrote:I notice you have the dial thermometer/hygrometer. Those are notoriously inaccurate. Most of us use the Accurite. Usually found in Walmart or amazon. About $8-10.

It is made for indoors but it will still last several months in the tank. I put mine on with velcro. I use the extra strong outdoor velcro I found in the hardware section.Riceyandspicy wrote:Hermiesguardian wrote:I notice you have the dial thermometer/hygrometer. Those are notoriously inaccurate. I found this one on amazon but it doesnt look waterproof and it only has a stand and a magnet. How would I put it in my tank then and where?
(R.I.P spent 20$ on the dial)
