Unfortunately Lee Has Crabs is moving several states away and could not take his crabs with him. Luckily he is only 30 minutes away from Xeno and I so we decided to take them in.

The scary part was we unfortunately had to go digging for one of them. We actually found two! They both have recently molted so we did our best to carefully dig. The one had finished his exo and the other still had some to go.

The two that were up I put in our 20 tall. The two that were molting I placed in separate ISO's to allow them to finish. Both of the molter's were moving around by the time I got home. I added the pieces of exo we found along with more calciums and various foods. I think they will be fine in a week or so once they finish hardening.

It was good meeting Lee since he has been active on here for a year or two. At least he knows his crew made it to a good home.ImageImageImageImage

Cuties!
I am moving across town in two days and have 2 out of 7 crabs down. Do you have any tips for digging them up? Or do you just start removing substrate and hope for the best? I'll definitely iso them if there's any sign of moulting.

Dig slow and gently trying to find tunnels. Kind of how a cat scratches in a litter box. Once you feel a hole be even more careful and try to dig around the shell and save any uneaten exo you find so the crab can eat it later.

I am so grateful for Mötor and Xeno! It was so great meeting you finally after chatting on here for a while and like you said, I’m thankful that I know they are going to a great home and by the pics you’ve sent know they’re in crabby paradise . Wish I could have taken them with but our situation wouldn’t allow that right now. Maybe in the future. Thanks again!
