What about talking to someone online about it? Maybe see if you could at least get her to try it a couple of times. I wonder if there is a forum out there for that kind of thing just like we have this one for crabs? I find it very interesting here and think of you guys as my friends and don't worry if you know personal things that I wouldn't want everyone else to know because you don't actually know me personally (if that makes since). Such as what's going on with my sis right now. Most acquaintances and/or friends haven't been told what's going on cuz it a little confusing and kinda embarrassing to a certain extent. It sucks that her job won't let her talk to a therapist. There should be an exception to that for people who suffer a tragedy such as losing a loved one.Unfortunately even though we could see right through it everyone has to learn on their own its just human nature to be stubborn like that.

My brother just ran a check on the name this guy has been using and it came up in several scam alert blogs and forums as a very common name that scammers use and on one of these forums the women who were posting about people using this name said that its a common name for G.I.'s who are fake people.Apparently theres a trend going on right now in the scammer community to set up Facebook, My Space or Dating website profiles using stolen pictures of real solders and attach them to a fake name and the name gets circulated a lot within these communities so dozens if not hundreds of scammers are using the same name and just attaching pics of random solders to it.The guy my mom had been talking to followed the same pattern as what a lot of these women posted about seeing themselves so we know now that at least four different guys have been using the name Kevin Johnson to text with her over the last two weeks and only one of them is using Facebook at the moment so it sounds like her number was getting passed around to several different people because we also noticed that there were two phone numbers texting her under Kevin's name one from Rapids City Iowa and the other from Salem Oregon.I ran both phone numbers through several reverse lookup engines and the results were the same one number was indeed coming out of Rapids City and the other was coming out of Salem Oregon I was even able to obtain some carrier information from the numbers which narrowed down the addresses of these people to one or two city blocks...Funnier thing here is the Rapids City phone number is currently attached to an African American woman by the name of Kristy Johnson strange no....

My brother just confirmed it the guy our mom has been talking to is a con, my brother was able to find the real Kevin Rhett Johnson on facebook he's thirty years old and is in the Colorado National Guard. My brother sent him a message over facebook let letting him know that his identity had been stolen by a scam artist that was using it to scam widows out of their money.I'll find out tomorrow if the real Kevin posted back to my brother but yes it has been confirmed real Kevin even said that the pic of a registration card with his name on from AARP was posted as a joke because he's only thirty and you have to be fifty to get one so obviously AARP sent him a registration card in error and the conman using his pics and name stole that pic along with several others to make people believe that he is fifty instead of thirty wow some people are just low down no good so and sos I tell you what.Karma will get the con man sure as the world turns round he'll get his just rewards one day.

I think if I were you I would give that info to the police of the town you located them in. Maybe just maybe they would do something about it.

@jenok, it's unlikely that anything would be done if a police report were made because theres not enough info, I'd need a more exact street address and the cell phone numbers can easily be duplicated using a computer and blank sim cards that are then loaded into any number of phones around the world and work as if they are being used where the phone number was initially originated by the phone companies here.I do know that its very easy to dupe smart phones nowadays because of they way they work if you know what your doing you can actually call the number you want to steal using a phone application on your computer and a sniffing program that finds all of the carrier specific info behind the number that should be invisible to everybody accept the phone company and download that info to a blank sim card. You just pop that sim card into any unlocked or jail broken smart phone and you have instant access to that number including voice mails, attached email accounts and in more sophisticated setups you can even gain access to the real phones camera and audio equipment which will allow you to turn the persons phone who you just hijacked on and off, record their calls and steal their identities. This kind of thing happens a lot with smart phones through a method that has been used since at least the early nineties called pulse snitching which is where you have a computer set up to robo call every number in the phone book and then it generates a pulse tone over several seconds this pulse tone is whats used by the phone company service installers to get your phone or dsl service started and if you know the correct tones to send to the phone company you can steal anybodies personal info that is stored on the phone companies servers because you have essentially fooled the server security into thinking you work for the company which gives you unlimited access to all the personally identifiable info you could possibly want or need to steal someones identity so if you get phone calls that sound like someone is using dial up internet on the their line or it sounds like a fax is going out on their end then your getting pulse snitched and typically the thief only needs six seconds to do his/her dirty work so by the time you've hung up its too late....All this nifty little ways of steal carrier info from someones cell phone makes it nearly impossible to be completely sure of where they are at and so just as hard to enforce any kind of laws unfortunately.

@Laurie, yeah she has blocked/baned the guy on Facebook, she had me completely do away with the email account she was using to send and receive emails with this guy and she has also terminated the phone number she was using to text with him as well.I kept telling her that the guy seemed fishy because he had third world grammar at best and would not use Skype he kept coming up with various reasons because he didn't want her to see his face because the game would have been up at that moment and he knew it.On the first week of them talking I tried blocking him on her Facebook page and flagging him with the Facebook security team but she kept fighting me on it and wouldn't let me do it because she thought I was just being jealous...My younger brother steps in and does what I was trying to do and she moaned and complained like a little school girl who's just been forbidden to talk to a boy whom she likes but my brother just took care of business and scared the mess out the guy because my brother turned him over to the Army who is now trying to find the guy.

Christian Mingle is an okay website I've been spammed with registration invites from them since 09' and haven't ever visited their website so the unsolicited spam is a bit worrying to me as that indicates that the company who owns the website is in the business of buying contact information from several major email providers and using it that information to spam these accounts.I've since blocked that website through my email settings because I've received way to many unsolicited registration invites to be convinced that the site takes it serious enough keeping my login details confidential.E-Harmony and Match.com are both just as bad for selling account info to advertisers so I don't trust them either.I've had to install an add blocker, pop up blocker and cookie controller so I can set which sites are allowed to set cookies, show me ads and flash based pop ups and so far these blockers have been working fine now I just need to find an adequate spam filter that stops the spam mail from ever getting to my email account to start with because I'm tired of having to clear out a thousand spam mails from my spam folder every day.lolGetting back on topic I don't trust these online dating websites because to many creepers and psychos are out there to trust that anybody is safe these days.My philosophy is social media is no place to meet someone, I believe in meeting the old fashioned way face to face and in person basically I would need to bump into the person in town start up a conversation and go from there and see where it leads to put any trust into the other person at all and I feel like thats how my mother needs to meet someone not online and certainly not over social media. Thanks for the input anyway though Laurie as always its much appreciated.
