:( my cat

Post by Laurie LeAnn » Tue Aug 26, 2014 6:00 pm

Well he got worse over the weekend. He got to where he was huffing , purring from pain, straining to pee getting diarrhea then I saw some blood in it. He wasn't moving Just wanting lie around, I mean that's normal for him but to hide behind my chair? Not normal. He was on pain meds and had an ultra sound scheduled for Friday to get urine to why he was getting constant bladder infections. I just couldn't stand to see him suffer like this all week, he was fine before a few days earlier after he finished the antibiotics then like clock work got sick again, this time though it was bad. I took him in, we weighed him one last time and he tipped the scale at 35 lbs. I stayed with him during the whole thing petting him, he growled all the way til the end..his love hate relationship w Dr Hall. Brought him home and he is buried out back by the lilac bush away from the animals. I have on the back of his picture document ed his weight, age, name. He is the last cat I will own. I have had cats since I was 3 and I mean one in my life every year. I miss him a lot, he was a pain in the butt. It will take time to get used to not getting out of the shower and stepping on cat litter, having him meow at you constantly to feed him, buy toys that he won't play with, buying cat litter, cat food...I will probably be the old lady in the nursing home in the wheel chair hallucinating she sees cats going here kitty kitty..

You had me crying all the way to the last. Then that here kitty kitty just cracked me up. Reminds me of a commercial that comes on every now and then when the lady opens up the sliding door and says here kitty kitty and a raccoon comes in and she says come on come snuggles with momma thinking that it is her cat.I'm sad for your loss but I really think you did the right thing.

It's Thursday, I'm getting better. Now with fibromyalgia I'm going through this smell issue. I smell cat litter or pee? Used to be the food. Just as I walk in the door, it's not carpet. I even took carpet liquid spray and that gets rid of the odor and put on the floor around my base boards and mopped the floors down, Friday I'm going to use the steamer on the living room carpet but I know it's not there. It can be the wood that kitchen counters are made of. Who knows..maybe the shoes? I go to my sons place and play with his ferrets get a animal fix and go home..

@Laurie, we recently lost a tuxedo cat we'd had since I was about 10yrs old his name was J.B. short for Jelly Belly though dad liked to call him Orion after the hunter constellation and he was a wop his belly literally drug the ground and then he got sick around 2012 and died at the end of that year he just suddenly started loosing weight but still had a very healthy appetite. He was in his late teens when he died, he'd lived a full and happy life with us he's buried next to my little dog Woody who lived 17yrs and a cat we had for less than a year named Pepper(she had a congenital defect with her liver)under the Azalea bush in our back yard.So I know how you feel, look at things that used to belong to him, seeing where he slept, being constantly reminded that he's not there anymore but trust me it will get easier to handle as time goes by and eventually all you'll be left with is the fond memories.

I have his cat collar by his picture with my cat figurine collection. Yes, I have a ceramic cat collection. Some are 30 years old. I went shopping today and was literally lost at what to buy! I didn't need cat litter, food, pet carpet cleaner...I bought mascara for the first time in about a year....
