I'm so excited because I love to go camping I have since I was little.lolMy dad used to take me, my brother and our cousins on these yearly wilderness survival trips between October and November we did this for years before it got where we couldn't due to financial issues but my cousins and I have recently started doing this in memory of our childhood and now in memory of my dad may he rest in peace. This will be the second year that we have gone camping without my brother or my dad, my brother is married and has a family to care for so he works crazy hard and my dad got in such bad shape that he physically couldn't do the whole laying on the ground in a sleeping bag thing anymore and then he passed away two weeks before his 56th birth day back in June of this year.We plan to make this a regular thing again because we all enjoy it and its a time for a group of now grown men who have their own lives to get together and spend time in fellowship with each other. Some how it got left up to me to be the one to make sure we have all of vital supplies and sundry items so I have been busy over the last two or three weeks pulling all of my gear out and placing it where it is easily accessed.lolMy gear consists of the tent and tarp that goes underneath it we will be using which is a ten man ten that is 24ft long by 10ft wide, my sleeping bag, 3 liters of clean drinking water, personal care items for the whole group, cooking items such as the pot and ladle and my extra clothes which includes a set of thermal undergarments.lolI'm bringing enough to last us the entire duration of the trip, their will be five of us but we are only staying overnight because the area we like to use is on a Wild Life Management park so now you have to pay per night to camp, this new per night fee is all thanks to the state wild life and fisheries department needing additional revenue to maintain these areas for the public to use which they are no longer making off of the sales of hunting and fishing licenses...We will be getting the rest of what we need to take with us on Friday night which will be the food, drinks, extra water and what ever else the other guys need for their own personal use.I'm so looking forward to this trip... The coolest thing about the area we camp is that you never know what wildlife may come up investigating your campsite, one year we got to see a big male silver fox, a young buck and several owls they were just moving back and forth through our camp but never bothered the tent or us.Scary thought tough is that we know there is a good size group of young black bear that call the area home, we have seen them and heard them on a couple of occasions but they have never messed with us which was a blessing. We do carry personal defense weapons because where we go its out in the middle of nowhere with no cell service so as Phil Robertson said we don't call 911 we are 911.lol
