Do land hermit crabs tend to eat more in the winter and eat less in the summer ?

Thats a great question! I would guess if the tank conditions are staying the same year round that they would eat the same year round, but I'm really not sure!

It depends on the crabs. Since most of our crabs in the states dig down for a winter slumber because of the daylight shift and climate change I would be more inclined to say yes. Crabs usually pig down before and after a molt.If they were in their natural habitat near the equator, I would guess that their eating habits remain about the same each year.

My guys eat WAY less in the winter. Mine usually dig down for the winter, even though temp and humidity are very good.

Mine tend to follow a diannual cycle, eating more in the spring and fall and being less active in the winter and summer
