So far, my E's have preferred the Natica Lineata and the Tiger Moon shells. I have bought several different kinds of "D" shaped shells, but these are the 2 mine switch to. However, most came in a differnt kind of shell that I have never been able to find online, so I cant tell you what they are called. They have a long slit opening, are natural, and somewhat rough with ridges. Anyone have a name for the shell seen here?http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ren1216/d ... pg&.src=ph

Ren1216, I think those are Rock Shells. Here is a pic from Naples Seashell Company:http://www.naplesseashellcompany.com/ro ... _shell.JPG

None of our Equadorians have changed shells since we got them between Jan. and March of this year, but of all the shells I've bought, the only ones to get their attention have been the Tiger Moons. I actually saw Hazel try one on a few times, then very quickly spin around to grab her original rock shell- exactly like the one in first photo! - and climb back in. The most similar ones to the rock shell she wears(as far as size, shape, and opening) that I can find on the internet are called Orange Rock Shells. I can't remember where I got them, though. I'll try and find the receipt. But as far as E's changing...I've learned not to stress too much. They really love what they're in now and won't let go of their oringinal shells until they are good 'n ready.

I wouldn't consider it a "bad" thing. They know what they want in shells and will change (or not, in my case) accordingly.I couldn't find my receipt, but here is where I got the orange rock shells:http://www.seashells.com/79shells/orangerock.htmThey are fairly light-weight and bumpy, but the opening is very similar to the darker rock shells' opening. No takers on them in my tank, though .
