So So Happy!! My biggest straw "Butters" popped up from his 3rd molt today! The other 2 smaller straws "Salts n Peppa"(look like salt shakers) have also done the same. I'm just glad that they are growing so well. YEA !!

Well, I really don't think that I do anything "special" for my guys. I have a 45 gallon tank with about 6 1/2 inches of moist play sand.I use the normal versa-top along with 2 24 watt (50 -60 gallon) UTH's on the back of the tank. The temperature usually stays between 82-83 degrees and the humidity is around 8o-82 percent. As far as their food goes I try to give them some kind of protein a couple times a week like chicken or tuna fish, they love my grilled turkey burgers! They always have some kind of fresh or dried fruit: apples, green grapes n caraisins are everybody's favorites. The straws especially like the calcium bowl, its seems like someone is always in their munching on the egg shells and calcium powder.(maybe that's the secret, who knows ???). I do really enjoy the straws though because they have a very sweet and mellow way about them and they are constantly roaming around day or night. The PP's are usually moss pit potatoes till around evening time, and the E's usually are digging craters into the sand or zipping around the tank afraid of their own shadows (or the big creepy lady that walks in front of the tank Ha Ha!) With all the great info that I have learned from this website and a little bit of dumb luck (on my part) I hope that they will continue to be happy happy happy crabbies!!!!
